AirLive strategies for growth in the regional market

Recently, an executive from Argentina pointed out that the Taiwanese manufacturer specializing in connectivity, customization of the products in accordance with the requirements of each market and incorporated new technologies. This paper also gives the details of the training provided to channel by the Core Group.

Albert Yeh, Vice President, AirLive, and Anna Lee, Sales Manager Latin American brand, hosted a meeting, which left some thoughts on the strategy of the company. According to the executives, "The most important brand strategy is to develop the right product for the right channel and have a good partner."

Yeh pointed out the different needs of the company detected in the markets where it operates. For example, while in Europe the focus is on design because the products are disposed of through the retail channel. In countries like Argentina and Brazil, the challenge is to have products with broad coverage. ”You must first understand the market first to develop any product," he said.

Customization

Referring to the product specifications as per the local market requirement, Yeh said the coverage needed not only because of the large distances to be covered, but also the use of frequencies. "In Argentina the frequencies are very saturated, for example 2.4 GHz, in this case AirLive products offer three frequencies around 5 GHz and are incorporated into the product." While acknowledging that this band to use the ISP must pay for their use, in this case of not being able to meet this expenditure, AirLive has a proprietary technology called "Clear Signal Technology" which consists of a hardware filtering and span to cancel signal interference, especially in the 2.4 GHz spectrum is highly congested.

In differential terms, the executive said, “Air Live products have a longer life in the market, even the entry models also, although slightly more expensive than the competitor but it will provide functions and control of bandwidth, as well as offering a very low RMA."

Training Session in Mar del Plata

when visiting Argentina, the executive offered training on Wi-Fi integration with AirLive IP video surveillance in a call made by the Core Group wholesaler. The event was held on May 6th at the Museum of the Sea of Mar del Plata and brought together more than a hundred people as per the report from the company.

The first block of training addressed coverage technologies, authentication and wireless installations. They highlighted the evidence to submit all wireless devices and comparing different long-range wireless technologies.

In this session, Yeh stressed that AirLive products can achieve greater distances because "the company do what they promise." For example, for high power solutions, "Some manufacturers say their USB antenna power is 2000mWbut the product specification from your website actually is 600mW (28dBm) and adding an antenna 5dBi 2000mW reaches. Based on its detachable antenna, this product is far from the truth, "he explained.

He also said that "competitor CPE 24dBm claim to possess only measure up to 12.8dBm. But the public AirLive CPE 23dBm measured 23.7dBm. In fact, the CPE 27dBm only measure up to 22.5dB but claimed something else. Interestingly, the public AirLive N. Power 30dBm without antenna measured 30.4dBm, it always exceed the expectations. "

New Technologies

During training session, Yeh introduced Beam Forming, the new wireless technology that allows AirLive expand coverage in homes and offices of more than one floor. At the end he said, “It is a more reliable transmission and orderly with no packet loss in environments too.”

Other highlights of the day were the different types of authentication to control access to Internet and Wireless (802.1x, Hostspot and PPPoE Server), wireless critical applications (Super Channel + Channel Shifting), wireless installations in malls and hotels.

IP Surveillance

In the second part of the training session address the advantages of IP over CCTV systems, topologies, installation of IP cameras and different camera models for each need for vigilance.

In this session, there was the presentation of the migration process with a CCTV video server of AirLive and different fields of view with different types of IP camera lenses, a specific router for IP camera, camera ports (DIDO), bandwidth and storage devices (NAS NVRs and burning software).

Another novelty of AirLive IP surveillance is the new Campro HD recording software, developed for the entire line of Full HD AirLive cameras with intelligent detection, E-MAP, DIDO and alarm events, among other features.

Wi-Fi and camera integration

During the presentation, the different aspects of installing a wireless network of cameras was explained. These points were explained in details: To find the appropriate bandwidth, wireless remote vs. bandwidth, connecting the camera against a CPE IP, wireless topology and use of proper equipment, etc.

The last session of the training was conducted by Adrian Bongioanni, Technical Support Manager for Latin America from the manufacturer, who presented a live demo with AirLive IP cameras installed in the hall of the Museo del Mar. The participants learned about the possibilities offered by the software management team including the brand NVRs.

At the end of the event, Ana Lee and Hernán Morales, Core Group, products were raffled among attendees.
